Directions

  1. Prepare the Wings
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels, which helps them crisp beautifully. Toss with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Arrange wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet.
  2. Bake Until Crispy
Bake wings for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. The aroma of spices will fill your kitchen and let you know something good is happening.
  3. Season the Shrimp
While the wings bake, season the shrimp lightly with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside so the flavors soak in.
  4. Cook the Sausage
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned and slightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  5. Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add butter and remaining olive oil. Add onion and bell pepper, cooking for 3 minutes until softened and fragrant. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Scramble the Eggs
Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and pour in the beaten eggs. Stir gently until just set, then mix with the vegetables for soft, fluffy bites throughout the rice.
  7. Fry the Rice
Add cold cooked rice to the skillet. Spread it out and let it sit for 1–2 minutes before stirring. This helps create those slightly crispy, restaurant-style rice bits.
  8. Add Shrimp and Sausage
Return sausage to the pan and add shrimp. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring, until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  9. Season and Finish
Drizzle in soy sauce and hot sauce if using. Toss everything together, taste, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with green onions just before serving.
  10. Serve Together
Plate the Cajun fried rice hot and pair with crispy wings on the side for the ultimate comfort-food combo.
