Directions

  1. Preheat the oven
    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare the scallops
    Pat scallops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  3. Make the garlic butter mixture
    In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth.
  4. Assemble the scallops
    Place scallops in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the garlic butter mixture evenly over them.
  5. Add the topping
    In another small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and chopped parsley. Sprinkle evenly over the scallops.
  6. Bake
    Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until scallops are opaque and the topping is golden brown. Avoid overbaking, as scallops cook quickly and can become rubbery.
  7. Serve
    Garnish with extra parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges. Optional: serve alongside crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
