Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 2 beef steaks (sirloin, ribeye, or filet; about 6–8 oz / 170–225 g each)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tbsp (14 g) butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary, optional

For the Shrimp

  • 12–16 large shrimp, peeled and deveined (about 200–250 g)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Pasta

  • 250 g (8.8 oz) spaghetti or linguine
  • Salt, for pasta water

For the Garlic Butter Sauce & Veggies

  • 3 tbsp (42 g) butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup (120 ml) reserved pasta cooking water
  • 60 g (2 cups) fresh spinach
  • ½ cup roasted or sautéed red peppers, optional
  • 2 tbsp (15 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chili flakes, optional
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
