Directions

  1. Prep the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and black pepper. Dry shrimp cook faster and get that perfect sear.
  2. Infuse the Oil
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until lightly golden and fragrant, about 1–2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic—it can turn bitter very quickly.
  3. Cook the Shrimp
Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink, opaque, and just cooked through. Sprinkle in red pepper flakes and toss everything gently to coat the shrimp in the garlic-infused oil.
  4. Add Flavor Boost
Optional but highly recommended: stir in a small knob of butter to enrich the sauce. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a bright, fresh finish.
  5. Serve Hot
Serve immediately with warm crusty bread to soak up the garlicky oil. For a heartier meal, serve over pasta, rice, or even roasted vegetables.
