Directions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and lightly season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add the olive oil and butter. Allow the butter to melt gently without browning.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30–45 seconds, just until fragrant. Do not let it burn.
  4. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes if using. Let the flavors warm together for about 1 minute.
  5. Increase heat to medium and add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until shrimp are pink, opaque, and slightly curled.
  6. Remove from heat and spoon the garlic butter oil over the shrimp.
  7. Finish with fresh parsley and sage leaves if using. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
